Ashbourne House Hotel

The Ashbourne House Hotel dates back to 1850 where it was once a coach stop. In 1920, the local schoolmaster took it over and lived in the house till the late 1950's. When he passed away, it was sold on to a family who decided to turn it into a small country hotel. From the 1970's through to today, it has gone through the hands of various individuals and families, each adding more and more character to the original house.

Well done Ashbourne House, we had an excellent day and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, particularly a lady, I think her name was Barbara. She went out of her way to help. Only one complaint the micks for the speeches was very bad. Otherwise great job.

All went fine with my stay. Initially worried as my room was right over the smoking area and there was some noise from bar, but a quiet night so I slept sound. No issues, thank you

Enjoyed our stay (albeit short) at the Ashbourne House Hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There were plenty of places to choose from to eat at in the morning (we ended up at Insomnia across the street). The front desk was very helpful with the bus system, as we needed to take a bus into Dublin. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Unfortunately we didn't end up staying that evening as my daughter ended up in the doctors and we had to leave abruptly that afternoon to go home to her. We were gobsmacked with the beautiful room we were given, rm. 209, unfortunately we didnt get to enjoy all the luxuries it had to offer! We will definitely rebook to stay again in the near future and hopefully we will be lucky enough to be given room 209 again. Many thanks, Paula
